Purpose
PCD is designed to bridge the gap between high-end beauty brands and innovative packaging suppliers. Its primary goals for the 2024 edition were:
- Luxury Packaging Innovation: Showcasing the latest in primary and secondary packaging specifically for perfumes, skincare, and color cosmetics—with a heavy emphasis on "premium" aesthetics.
- Sustainability & "Eco-Design": A central theme in 2024 was solving the tension between luxury (which often uses heavy materials) and sustainability (refillability, recyclability, and plastic-free solutions).
- Aerosol & Dispensing Technology: PCD is uniquely famous for focusing on dispensing systems—sprays, pumps, and valves that define the consumer experience of a fragrance or skincare product.
- The PCD Innovation Awards: A major highlight where the most creative and technically advanced packaging designs from the past year are honored.
- Networking for Developers: Bringing together R&D directors, packaging engineers, and designers from iconic houses (like LVMH, L’Oréal, and Chanel) to meet with international suppliers.
